I was on Instagram, scrolling through Instagram Stories the other day and I saw someone say:
“Don’t let your potential remain anonymous.”
I thought, “Wow, what a powerful quote.” I love powerful quotes by the way, they give me a jolt of energy.
But when I saw it, I also thought about you.
You Have So Much Potential
You have so many resources right in front you to help you reach that potential.
You have so many people in your world, some you know and some you don’t know yet, who are ready and able to help you get to the next level in your career.
Your desires to elevate in your career, to get a promotion, to change companies, to change entire industries, to work at that dream company, to work around people who get you and challenge you, to be happy and fulfilled in your career, to make more money and get paid what you deserve, to have your ideas valued and appreciated at work – they’re real.
And, they’re possible.
Not just for that one guy on Snapchat, who seems to have the perfect job and life – and who snaps it every second.
Not just for your co-worker who seems to be loved and adored by everyone.
Not just for your cousin who’s always going on and on about her amazing boss, her amazing company and her amazing business trips, every time you catch up with her at family gatherings.
It’s not just possible for them.
The things you desire are possible for you too.
You’re Sitting on a Goldmine
But you’re sitting on a goldmine and you don’t even realize it.
If you’re wondering what the precious goldmine is, it’s networking.
And, it’s quite frustrating that you don’t take it as seriously as you should.
My clients will tell you, I’m the #1 advocate for networking, because it works.
Networking Works More Than You Realize
How did a college dropout land a senior manager position at Spotify? Networking.
How did I become a Forbes Contributor, with zero prior connections to anyone at Forbes? Networking – with just one person by the way.
One of my clients told me yesterday that she finally reached out to two people in her industry and both of them told her about job openings that she hadn’t been able to find anywhere online.
Another one of my clients finally reached out to two people she admires, (she’s never met them before), and both of them responded within the same day – one in less than 30 minutes – eager to meet her and help her.
Another one of my clients had her eyes set on her dream company. After working with me and learning how to network, she was put into contact with someone at her dream company, and she’s now in the final stages of the interview process.
I can go on and on.
But, only because I want you to understand that there’s power in building the right relationships.
There’s Power in Building the Right Relationships
You may not realize it but your opportunities are on the other side of your relationships.
And because I’m so fired up about this, I want to help you.
I want to offer you a FREE workshop next Wednesday, Jan. 17th at 8 p.m. ET for us to chat all about this.
I want to teach you the essentials to building the right relationships with the right people so that you can land the opportunities you desperately desire.
I’ll also share with you what networking isn’t so that you can start doing it the right way and so that you don’t have to feel deceptive, awkward, overwhelmed or even intimidated by the thought of connecting with other people.
You deserve to make 2018 all that it can be for you.
And, the truth: every opportunity you desire will come from a conversation. So why not put a little more effort into building the right relationships this year?
